It delivers the same acoustic response you would be hearing in the sweet spot of the Studio 3 control room-with the same stereo (or surround) image, and the same well-balanced sustain across the entire frequency spectrum. The Abbey Road Studio 3 plug-in recreates the acoustic environment of the legendary Abbey Road Studio 3-inside any set of headphones. Head tracking by the Nx Head Tracker enhances the plug-in’s immersive realism. Thanks for posting on r/WeAreTheMusicMakers. Has anyone else encountered this or have any opinions about this software? I wonder if the Sennheiser 650's would perform any better. The DT990's are known to be on the bright side of the spectrum.way brighter than the 770's imo and most other headphones I have tried.yet the plugins calibration seemed to make it even brighter? I tried out the Sonarworks calibration software (trial version) and that one did a great job of compensating for the brightness, but I don't know how I feel about buying and running 2 different calibration softwares simultaneously.makes me worry about the side effects on phase relationships and such. I was happy to see the Abbey Road plugin had a headphone calibration profile for the DT990.except that it's way off in my opinion.as was the DT770 I use BeyerDynamics DT770 and DT990 headphones and was hoping to primarily use the DT990's because of their open back design that make the audio feel more real to life. ![]() ![]() The Abbey Road version was way nicer in my opinion. I am slowly transitioning to a laptop rig primarily with headphones because of space/noise constraints and tried out the NX plugin from waves as well as their Abbey Road version (trial versions). I am a semi-pro mix engineer (meaning that I get great projects every once in a while, but can't sustain a full time living off of mixing just yet) and have a pretty good ear when it comes to audio (or so I'd like to think). ![]()
